Winners in the Open Category—the students of IISc, Yogansh Namdeo and Ujjal Hafila and their professor Monto Mani—created a sewer cleaning robot, which besides being prototyped for under 2 lakh rupees (the average sewer cleaning robot retails for $10,000 internationally), creates a mechanical replacement for dangerous work done by hand.
