SuDesi – acronym for Sustainability and Design.
Su is a Sanskrit prefix for good, positive, virtuous and beautiful; and desi stands for design that is indigenous and responsive to local diversity.
SuDesi lab comprises multi-disciplinary researchers working on diverse areas underlying and challenging sustainability. These areas include climate-responsive architecture (buildings and materials), design for the Bottom of the Pyramid, Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV), sustainability evaluation in design/technology and manufacturing, and water and sanitation.
The lab strives to bring out at least one Science &Technology based significant contribution of societal relevance every two years.
